How to Ship Amazon FBA LTL Pallets
A complete guide to shipping palletized inventory to Amazon fulfillment centers via LTL (Less Than Truckload). Learn pallet requirements, labeling, and how to avoid rejections.
LTL Shipping Process
Follow these steps to ship pallets to Amazon FBA.
Create Your Shipping Plan
In Seller Central, create an inbound shipping plan. Select 'Less Than Truckload (LTL)' as your shipping method. Amazon will assign destination fulfillment centers.
Prepare Your Pallets
Stack boxes on standard GMA pallets (48" x 40"). Maximum height is 72" including pallet. Wrap securely with stretch wrap. Weight limit: 1,500 lbs per pallet.
Label Everything
Each pallet needs Amazon FBA pallet labels on all four sides. Each carton needs FBA shipment labels. Print labels from your shipping plan in Seller Central.
Book Your LTL Carrier
Use Amazon's partnered carriers for discounted rates, or arrange your own LTL freight. Provide BOL, pallet count, weight, and delivery appointment if required.
Schedule Delivery Appointment
Many FBA warehouses require delivery appointments. Check your shipping plan for specific requirements. Amazon partnered carriers handle this automatically.
Track & Confirm
Monitor your shipment in Seller Central. Once received, Amazon will check in your inventory. Keep your BOL and tracking numbers for reference.

Common Questions
LTL (Less Than Truckload) is for palletized shipments. SPD (Small Parcel Delivery) is for individual boxes shipped via UPS/FedEx. LTL is more cost-effective for larger quantities.
Amazon's partnered carriers often offer competitive rates and handle appointment scheduling automatically. However, you can use any LTL carrier. Compare rates for your specific lanes.
There's no strict limit, but Amazon may split your shipment across multiple fulfillment centers. A full truckload is typically 24-26 standard pallets.
Common rejection reasons: improper labeling, damaged pallets, missing appointments, or non-compliant packaging. You'll need to arrange return freight or schedule redelivery after fixing issues.
Yes, but goods must clear US customs first. Many sellers stage inventory in a US warehouse (like our Laredo FTZ), then ship to FBA. This gives you more control over timing and compliance.
